A Narrative Inquiry of Woman Practitioners Of Eastern Spirituality in Recovery From Childhood Trauma

About Eva Zimmermann

Drawn, since adolescence, to the philosophy and practice of yoga, Eva taught Transcendental Meditation in the 1970s and early 80s, and dedicated many years to exploring the power of non-dual awareness. A graduate of both the Integral Counseling Psychology and East-West Psychology programs at CIIS, her interest has since gravitated towards the confluence of psychological healing and spiritual unfolding. Sensitized, as a licensed psychotherapist in the San Francisco Bay Area, to the presence of unresolved childhood trauma in many of her clients’ lives, Eva focused her doctoral research on the psychospiritual dynamics of posttraumatic growth in victims of child abuse. In the course of her personal and professional journey, her attention has shifted from an almost exclusive interest in the transpersonal dimensions of life towards opening to a fully embodied sense of Self. Now living close to her home town in Switzerland, Eva integrates established with innovative therapeutic modalities to support her clients in releasing mental emotional and physical blocks to self actualization.
